Most Upcoming and Affordable Suburbs in Melbourne
So Melbourne has been named the world's most liveable city for the fourth year in a row (Aug 2014), by the Economist Intelligence Unit's liveability survey of 140 cities. Melbourne received an overall score of 97.5 out of 100, scoring a perfect rating for healthcare, education and infrastructure. In Nov 2011, the age published a list of livability rankings for Melbourne Suburbs (data has yet to be updated). I used the rankings from the article and combined it with top school rankings and a survey of rentals using realestate.com.au to create an interactive map on Tableau, shown below. The size of the bubble represents the change in ranking and the color coding shows cheaper rentals in green on the left. On the right hand side map, darker greens represent higher ranking suburbs. The age also published their own interactive map here . It's pretty obvious that the Northern suburbs seem to be coming up much faster and have higher rankings with better schools. ...
