Brother!

Well my Big Brother wasn't very pleased about my plans regarding the CA foundation course at Deakin, especially since he'd have to pay for at least half of the relatively expensive investment.

So I decided that I'll go in for CIMA entirely self-funded. In retrospect that's a good idea, since I'll also have a lot more market worth. Following up with a CA should get me places, especially if I can just get some good ERP/ BI experience in the meantime and hope my timing is right (I will be timing the job market demand, immigration policy and many other cycles). But this is probably going to take a lot more time.

  1. Hello,

Don't know where you are up to, as in progress to your migration to Australia. You mention that you are planning to do a distance education course in accounting through Deakin university, you might want to check whether this study would be recognise for earning you points for you visa application.

To tell you the truth, the best way I have seen so far is to actually to study onshore that way you get an understanding of the local culture and then apply for migration.

In your case you have a family, but I think with a student visa you can also bring your family here. You may have to take part-time jobs here and there, but there is not easy way out of this.

    All the best.

    Rashida.
