When you know you're getting hired...

You've understood exactly what the pain is and you know you have the right skill set to tackle the problem.

That's because you've done this kind of thing before - you've been the knight in shining armor with one leg resting on the carcass of a similar dragon.

You've impressed them with stories, but you also sneaked a chance to whip out the laptop and show them some real examples to demonstrate your talent.

But throughout you've kept a very keen eye towards what they're really looking for. You've noticed the slight change in body language when things get interesting and you've kept heading up that path.

Eventually your credentials and qualifications don't seem to matter anymore. The conversation has drifted towards the actual situation and you are discussing remedial strategies.

In the follow up interview, you are presented with a format to sample your talent. You've got all the basics down in your presentation on the white board (in red) but you've added those key insights (in green).

Your presentation is super, but you've also brought in new ideas and maturity. It's those green phrases on the white board that prove to them you are on top of your game.

And then the discussion becomes really intense towards the problem at hand once more, only with a larger panel. You shine through as the man with the plan, the need of the hour, the savior, the hero.

You've seen them nodding in approval, you've seen their eyes widen. They seem to be looking up at you even when they're on the same level.

Unless there is far more than meets the eye, you know you've scored a victory. Within a week you should hear they're sending in some paperwork.
